Salkantay Grand 9 Days – Complete Andes

9 days

A complete Andean adventure built around the 5-day Salkantay Trek, with cultural context, recovery time and Rainbow Mountain.

We built this 9 days itinerary for adventure-focused travelers who want a full Salkantay trek to Machu Picchu plus Cusco's strongest cultural and high-altitude complements.. The sequence combines the underlying PERU IS EPIC products into one coordinated journey while preserving the operational rules, permits, tickets and inclusions of each component.

Important: Cusco accommodation is not automatically included on nights that are not already part of an underlying multi-day trek or Machu Picchu product. Review the inclusions carefully and add hotel or airport services separately if you want us to coordinate the complete stay.

  • Full 5-day Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu
  • Sacred Valley before the trek for cultural context
  • Horse-supported luggage logistics on the Salkantay component
  • Recovery day before Rainbow Mountain
  • Strong margin allows a meaningful package saving while preserving profitability

We begin with Cusco's cultural landmarks and a lighter first day for acclimatization.

We explore the Sacred Valley before the trek, connecting Inca history and landscapes with the journey ahead.

The 5-day Salkantay Trek begins with the transport, horse-supported luggage logistics and campsite/accommodation structure confirmed in ST001.

We continue through the Salkantay route's demanding mountain terrain and major altitude gain.

The trail descends through changing landscapes as the trek transitions away from the highest mountain environment.

We continue through the operational route toward the Machu Picchu area according to ST001.

We visit Machu Picchu with the entrance route confirmed for the booking, then return toward Cusco.

We leave a deliberate rest day after the trek so you are not pushed directly into another high-altitude hike.

We finish with Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley for a final high-Andean challenge.

Everything You Need to Know

You can book directly through our website by selecting your tour, date, and group size, then completing payment online. Once payment is processed and availability is verified, we send your booking confirmation with the details you need for your trip. If you would prefer help planning your itinerary, you can also reach out to us directly before booking.
Our higher-altitude tours, such as Humantay Lake and Rainbow Mountain, include a first-aid kit and emergency support, and our guides are attentive to how the group is coping with the conditions. If you have a pre-existing health condition or are concerned about the effects of altitude, we recommend consulting your doctor before booking a high-altitude experience.
Some of our services depend on limited or externally controlled inventory, such as Machu Picchu entrance tickets and Inca Trail permits, so a date can occasionally be unavailable. If that happens, we let you know as soon as we verify availability and help you find the closest alternative date or itinerary that works for your trip.
