Short Inca Signature 5 Days – Trail + Icons

5 days

A compact Cusco adventure built around the Short Inca Trail, with the Sacred Valley and Rainbow Mountain on either side.

We built this 5 days itinerary for active first-time visitors who want a real Inca Trail experience but prefer a shorter trek with a hotel night instead of the Classic 4-day camping route.. The sequence combines the underlying PERU IS EPIC products into one coordinated journey while preserving the operational rules, permits, tickets and inclusions of each component.

Important: Cusco accommodation is not automatically included on nights that are not already part of an underlying multi-day trek or Machu Picchu product. Review the inclusions carefully and add hotel or airport services separately if you want us to coordinate the complete stay.

  • Short Inca Trail with Machu Picchu as the centerpiece
  • Sacred Valley context before the trek
  • Hotel-based Short Inca Trail format rather than a second camping product
  • Rainbow Mountain as a final high-altitude adventure
  • Target group size around 10 guests, subject to the confirmed ground operator

We begin in Cusco with a cultural introduction and a more moderate first day, helping you settle into the altitude before the trekking portion.

We explore Chinchero, Moray and the Maras Salt Mines on our Sacred Valley experience, building historical context before you step onto the Inca Trail.

We enter the Short Inca Trail with the permits confirmed for your departure, hike through archaeological and cloud-forest scenery, and continue to the overnight arrangement included in IT002.

We return to Machu Picchu for the guided visit associated with your confirmed entrance ticket and route, then travel back toward Cusco.

We finish with a high-altitude challenge at Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley. This day is demanding, so the package is best for travelers who are already comfortable with active itineraries.

Everything You Need to Know

You can book directly through our website by selecting your tour, date, and group size, then completing payment online. Once payment is processed and availability is verified, we send your booking confirmation with the details you need for your trip. If you would prefer help planning your itinerary, you can also reach out to us directly before booking.
Our higher-altitude tours, such as Humantay Lake and Rainbow Mountain, include a first-aid kit and emergency support, and our guides are attentive to how the group is coping with the conditions. If you have a pre-existing health condition or are concerned about the effects of altitude, we recommend consulting your doctor before booking a high-altitude experience.
Some of our services depend on limited or externally controlled inventory, such as Machu Picchu entrance tickets and Inca Trail permits, so a date can occasionally be unavailable. If that happens, we let you know as soon as we verify availability and help you find the closest alternative date or itinerary that works for your trip.
